ExploCallout

Numbered callout markers and leader lines for technical Blender scenes, by RevealForge.

What it does

ExploCallout turns a finished model into a clear, numbered technical presentation without leaving Blender. Feed it a set of anchor points for the parts you want to label, and it draws consistent markers and leader lines out to your label positions — no separate rigging per part, no manual mesh work for the connector geometry itself.

What's in the package

  • The ExploCallout add-on (explocallout-1.0.0.zip) — a small Blender extension that automates numbering, layout, and camera framing from a side panel. Optional, but it's the recommended workflow to use the asset. Source included, GPL-3.0-or-later — see License.
  • explocallout.blend — the asset file: the TO_Callouts Geometry Nodes node group, plus a small example assembly scene with callouts already applied.
  • The asset catalog file, this guide, and the license files.

Why it's useful

  • Add-on, optional but recommended. Install it once and the panel handles numbering, layout, and camera framing for you. Prefer to work by hand? The TO_Callouts node group works on its own — append or link it like any other Blender asset.
  • Consistent results up to 50 anchors. The same node group and workflow apply whether you're labeling a single part or a full assembly — geometry stays clean up to 50 anchors, though readability degrades past roughly 20 converging leader lines on a small assembly.
  • Built for delivery. It's made for the moment right before a render, video, or technical sheet needs to look intentional — not improvised.
